I am a 27-year-old lady who has just completed NYSC, and my boyfriend is currently working in Nigeria, earning up to ₦1 million monthly. We will be celebrating two years together this year. My boyfriend really wants us to settle down, but I want us to relocate abroad first because I feel there are limited job opportunities for me here in Nigeria. Fortunately, I have an opportunity to travel because my family is willing to sponsor me. However, my boyfriend has made it clear and even begged that he doesn’t want to leave his dream job to relocate abroad for now until he gains proper experience in his work. He said we will relocate after 2–3 years. He is a responsible, caring, loving, and respectful man, and I genuinely love him. I don’t want to travel abroad alone, but at the same time, I don’t want to miss this golden opportunity simply because of LOVE. Please, what do you think I should do? Should I stay back and focus on building a future with him in Nigeria, or should I take this opportunity and pursue my dreams abroad? I would really appreciate your honest advice.
