My Partner Isn’t Ready For Marriage

I turned 28 this year, and to be honest, where I am is not where I expected I would be. I’m currently in a relationship, and to be honest, the pressure of settling down is much. I have a little business I do. It’s not much, but it keeps my bills sorted to an extent. Now, my issue is I always see posts online where people talk badly about women who are in their 30s and unmarried and how they didn’t take their 20s seriously enough for a man to marry them, and it gives me anxiety. My current boyfriend, on the other hand, yes, we have spoken about the future and settling down, but from the look of things, I don’t think this man is settling down soon, and he is approaching his late 30s. My siblings are already looking at me with that “time is going” look, and though my sister and friends have indirectly asked if the person I’m with is not serious and if they should set me up with someone else, we are a little over a year into our relationship.

And don’t get me wrong, I love my boyfriend, and I have been completely loyal since the beginning of our relationship, and I’ll like to think he loves me too. Though he has had some little f*ck-ups on his end, we worked past it, but I’m getting impatient waiting. I don’t want to be that 30 and unmarried lady people speak badly of, and worse still, after waiting for him, something happens and we don’t end up together. I’ll like to believe some women can relate to the position I am in. If you were in my situation, would you wait for this man to be ready, or would you look for other options just in case he doesn’t make a move fast? Please be kind with your words. I’ll be in the comment section.
