I used to hear people talk about students who spill over. I never thought it would be me someday. I’m an average student and usually do okay in school, but because I missed two tests due to health issues, I now have an extra year. I never even had carryovers from 100 level. I didn’t tell my mum about it because she’s hypertensive, and that would be the literal end of her. She’s been so happy and proud, thinking I graduated. Soon she’ll start asking about serving. I’m trying to finish. I’ve been cleaning people’s houses and doing odd jobs to raise my school fees, but it’s not looking like I’d be able to meet up. If I can’t meet up, I lose my studentship. What would I do if that happens? What do I tell my mum? I feel like dy!ng, but that is even out of the question. My mum would never recover. I swear I worked so hard to gain admission, one hurdle after another, and now something I couldn’t control is about to take everything from me. I need advice. Just in case I lose my studentship, what do I do?
