In 2023, I gave birth, and during that period, I was at home. My sister-in-law was helping me out with my shop because I sell perfumes, toiletries, and undies, the reason being that I had some goods to give out to customers. To cut the story short, after a month, I realised she wasn’t remitting all the money, and after checking and all, there was no money to continue since the rent was about to expire, so I moved the shelves home. My baby daddy was giving me body hitting, even though he was not the one who gave me money to start the business and all. I couldn’t bear it. I started doing menial jobs so as to get money since he wouldn’t drop money for me. I told the mum, but she doesn’t take things seriously. To cut the story short, my dad told me I couldn’t continue like this because sometimes he would be the one to send me money to feed. I met a friend of mine last year, and she told me she got an Arab link, if I would be interested. At least, after I pay my sponsors’ money, for at least 1 year and 8 months, then I can work and save up for mine.
My dad said he’s not in support of that. To worsen the matter, it is through the desert, but I remember an adage that says, “Ekan ni omo okunrin ku,” “A man only dies once,” which I believe means I will survive and won’t die. I have seen hell in this thing called marriage. I’m getting depressed lately because of some words he says to me. Even my little girl will wipe my tears sometimes. I just want to make it as well. Should I drop my little girl with my dad and stepmum, pack a few things of mine, and run away to take the offer? I got a teaching job of N15k, and it’s not even enough because I pay for transport too. What do you guys think? I need advice, please, guys.
