Hi, I’m 23 and in 300 level. I recently ended a five-year relationship. My boyfriend trades, so I gave him my savings last year before learning a tech skill (Product Management), which he agreed to multiply and pay back. This was in December 2024. Fast forward to December 2025, I asked for the money because I wanted to support my mum, family, and myself, but he kept giving me excuses and going back and forth. I had to involve my elder brothers, and now he has started paying me back. But I feel he’s not trustworthy enough for me to settle down with. Plus, I want to focus on landing an internship this year and completing my studies by the end of the year. He wants to continue the relationship. I need advice. Did I do well by breaking up with him?
