You guys, why is my own situation always different? I am someone who hustles like a maniac. As in, I like money so much, and I work hard to get it. I’m in my mid-30s. When it comes to relationships, I’ve always dated hardworking men and never a lazy man. I have met men who wanted to marry me, but it’s either I don’t like them or they are mean and arrogant. Recently, I met the most handsome guy to me, or rather, my type of guy. The issue is that he is quite broke. He literally earns ₦200k, while I, on the other hand, make about ₦1 million or more a month, which will most likely increase in a few months. The guy is hardworking, but unfortunately, where he works doesn’t pay much. I know he likes me, and I feel the same way, but I worry that he’ll relax in marriage once he sees I make more money. I’ve read a lot of stories about how women who earn more than their husbands suffer in marriage and end up carrying all the responsibilities. I’m already used to a certain lifestyle as a single lady who earns enough to cater for herself. What do I do? Marriage is not a do-or-die affair for me. I couldn’t care less, but I genuinely love him. Do I give him a few more years to see if things will pick up? Another thing is that he turned 40 this year. Poor guy, life itself. I’m so confused.
