Was I The One At Fault, Or Was I Played?

Well, I’ve been thinking about dropping this story here, but let me just do it once and for all. So, I met this guy through a friend, or rather, we were matched by our mutual friend. We did the talking stage for a month. During that talking stage, we were always going out every weekend, even though some s€xual things happened, which I blame myself for and hate myself for. The guy was so sweet and calm. He was literally everything I wanted in a guy. He even mentioned that we were both the same age, which I didn’t have a problem with. After the one-month talking stage, he literally asked me out. I was so happy; you know that feeling? We went out on a date, and he asked me out again. The guy even picked an anniversary date for us since he asked me out twice. It was so sweet. We actually had issues, which we spoke about and both apologised for. A day before the breakup, we spoke and ended the call with, “I love you.” The next day came, and I didn’t hear from him for a while until that night.

He texted, saying we should end things because he was going through a lot. I asked questions, but he said it was personal. The next day, I cried my eyes out on my way to work. Mind you, we had “dated” for three weeks. Everyone around me was surprised about the sudden breakup because he had put in effort throughout the talking stage and the three weeks we dated. I told his friend, our mutual friend, about the breakup, and he said he didn’t know the reason why he broke up with me. A month after the breakup, the friend called and started asking questions like whether I had moved on, what if he came back, and whether I would accept him. He also asked about my new admirers. He even said that, apart from the breakup, I should know that the guy liked me. The questions were so funny. At some point, the guy, my ex, surprisingly checked on me. Later, the mutual friend said he was going to tell me the reason why the guy broke up with me. I asked him for the reason twice, but his response was, “Move on.

You’re even the one who is supposed to tell me about your new admirers, unless you haven’t moved on.” After hearing that statement, I swore I wouldn’t ask him for the reason anymore or chat with him. Lastly, the guy, who is my ex, tweeted, “27 and on the rise,” on his social media. I was confused about that statement, but I feel he lied to me about his age. But why? Anytime I remember the issue, which is still fresh in my head, I ask myself what could be the reason why he broke up with me. It’s funny how I still think and ask myself if I was the problem, but thank God for life. Honestly, the dating pool is also messed up. Still, we haven’t met everyone who will show us the love we deserve.
