Hi everyone, this topic might be off, but I really want to hear people’s opinions. Why do fashion designers take interns when they know they aren’t ready? I am actually a beginner and also a student. I am on my SIWES, and my course is fashion, so I have to work in a fashion academy. I contacted this fashion academy, and she said I have to pay before starting, which I did, a total sum of N200k. She said I can continue coming even after SIWES, but I don’t think I will really have time except on Saturdays because of school. To cut the story short, this is the third month, and I haven’t learnt anything new. We are always beading for her every day, and if she wants to cut fabrics, she would have done it at home before coming to the shop. I already complained to her, and she said, “Don’t worry, once I am done with this bride dress, I will start teaching you back to back,” but still, no changes.
