Firstly, I want to thank you for providing this platform; it’s been helpful in many ways, especially in understanding humans. My dad owns a building in Osun where we and the tenants stay in the same compound. My dad doesn’t rent out apartments to Yahoo boys because of rampant stories he’s heard about how most Yahoo boys in our locality engage in ritualistic activities. Years back, he rented out an apartment to someone and later discovered he was a Yahoo boy through his friends and discussions they had. He tried to get him out of the compound at that moment but to no avail. Fast forward to my reason for writing this story, I saw him yesterday at the front of our compound (we had issues obtaining this land, so we ended up dividing it with the owner of the next compound who is a well-known traditional and ritualistic man in our locality).
This particular tenant walked through the wood used to divide the land, and I saw some substance on his hand that he threw to the other man’s side of the land. I was afraid he would see me, so I ran inside to look through my window, but before I got there, he had left. I had no idea if he threw it on our side. My dad is not in town currently, so he called me and told me he had a dream regarding one of the tenants, calling the guy’s name directly and saying we should be very careful in the compound. When I told my mum about the situation, she said I shouldn’t tell my dad what I saw because she felt my dad would overreact. I don’t know what step to take next. I’m 18, and I’ll be graduating from uni this year, I don’t want anything bad to happen to me or my family. Do you think I should tell my dad because I don’t know what to do right now?
