The truth is, everyone’s got what they’re going through, and it’s not easy. But one thing to never forget in the midst of it all is that, even if for just a second, there is always something to smile about. You woke up—smile because it’s not an easy feat. You were able to eat dinner—smile because you worked hard for it. You hear a joke about a funny TV show—smile. While it might seem like there’s nothing to smile about, there is always a reason.
It helps to smile. Studies have shown that smiling releases certain brain chemicals that make us feel good, elevate our mood, and relax our body. It’s not going to make our problems go away, but don’t we deserve to feel relaxed for even a second amidst all the noise around us?
