I literally just met this guy online, and we’ve been talking for more than a week now. He’s my kind of guy physically, and from the way he speaks, he seems genuine and ready for a serious relationship. I like him already, but there’s one thing bothering me: he’s still struggling to make ends meet. Though he has something he’s doing, it’s not a daily or monthly income kind of job—not “Yahoo,” please! I wouldn’t want to mention it, but his work only comes once in a while. It’s the only thing he’s doing at the moment. It’s not that I can’t help him grow or support him, but at the same time, I’m concerned about financial issues that may arise later. I’m a hardworking lady, and there might be situations where I need financial support. I’ll need him to come through for me, even if not always. Now I’m afraid I might disconnect from him in the long run if he’s unable to support me. I really like him, but I’m confused about whether I should be an understanding girlfriend and hope he doesn’t ditch me when he makes it, or let him go.
