No Words of Affirmation

So, I met this guy in February this year, and we started dating around May. He is 40 years old, never been married, and has no kids. I am 31 years old. He is a good man—we have great communication, spend quality time together, and he supports my dreams. The only issue is that he barely tells me he loves me. Instead, he says things like, “But you know I love you; I show it.” On his own, he has told me he loves me only twice.

Other times, I say it, and he responds with, “I love you too.” I am a lover girl, and words of affirmation are my love language. I’ve had this conversation with him more than twice, yet there’s no change. I am beginning to feel unloved. I might be wrong about doubting if he loves me, but clearly, how he shows love isn’t how I want to be loved. I want to be loved loudly in words and action. Please kindly advise me on what to do.
