I attend school in Abuad while my boyfriend goes to school in Eksu. I’ve been dating my boyfriend since 2021. Things were smooth at first, but later they changed. I would be the one to pay for our lodge. He used to give me money before, not large amounts like N100k, but maybe N10k or N20k. The highest amount he has given me is N70k for my birthday photoshoot preparation and all. I also reciprocate by sending him money. My parents are doing well, so I hardly ask my boyfriend for money. The problem now is he hasn’t credited me since last July. The last time we lodged, I paid, and I was so irritated by seeing him that I thought, “What the heck?” Although he’s not from a rich family and he’s sponsoring himself, he’s also a yahoo boy who hardly cashes out.
He’s 23, studying medicine in his second year. This guy is very caring and sweet, extremely caring. But I feel he’s not grateful. Shouldn’t he be thanking me for all that I’ve been doing? Sometimes I’ll send him card. I’m 21 in my third year of Physiotherapy. He’s very religious, and I’m also religious. I’m scared that once this guy makes more money, he might leave me for another girl. Also, my roommate’s boyfriend keeps spoiling her; he sent her N500k on her birthday, while my boyfriend couldn’t even afford N100k. As we speak, his house rent is about to expire, and his roommate wants to start staying alone, so he’s considering staying in the school hostel.
I’m not sure if Eksu has a hostel. I’m tired and scared he might leave. He doesn’t appreciate me, like saying, “Babe, thanks for everything you’ve been doing.” I feel he should be appreciating me because no girl will stay loyal like that. Or will things change when he’s done with school? As soon as I’m done, I’m leaving this country, but I wish to go with him. I love him so much, and I want the best for us. I’m thinking of gathering money for his travel through my parents if I can lie about my school fees increment. The money will be complete in less than a year. My friends keep calling me an understanding girlfriend. Please, guys, advise me.
