I am 25 years old and I have a good man. No relationship is perfect, but as long as he’s not cheating or being abusive, he’s okay for me. The problem is, he doesn’t want to do a civil wedding with me. He says it’s against the Sunnah because we are both Muslims and he is very devoted. He only wants to do Nikkah and says we’ll do a civil wedding only when we are about to travel abroad, which isn’t in his current plans. He’s the only man who has proposed to me. I’ve had other relationships, but none serious about settling down. Is it advisable to go on with the wedding plans with him? I need your advice because I don’t want problems in my future.
