I am 21 years old and have been dating this guy (29) for 2 years now. I’m a 300-level student, while he’s a graduate currently working with a big organization in Lagos earning close to N500k. However, he finds it difficult to give me a dime. This is not about being entitled to his money, as I also have my means of living. My man is just so stingy, he prefers spending money on his friends and giving outsiders than to me. Last year, I had a medical issue that required surgery, and the cost was about N750k. I asked him for assistance, promising to pay him back. However, a week before the surgery, he stopped talking to me, wouldn’t pick up my calls, or reply to my text messages.
Two months after my surgery, he came back to apologize, stating that he was busy with work, and I forgave him. To cut the story short, in my 2 years of dating this guy, the only money he ever spent on me was N15k, and I have spent more than that. Sometimes, he calls to borrow huge amounts of money, claiming his account isn’t working, and never pays back. He always makes promises and never fulfills them. This guy is not only stingy but also has trust issues, he even hacked my WhatsApp to know people I talk to or mingle with. I’m tired of this relationship but finding it difficult to leave because he is my first love and the guy who deflowered me. Fams, please help with any advice.
