I have a girlfriend that I’ve been dating for the past two years, and this July will make it three years. During these years, we’ve had little ups and downs, which we all believe is normal. Now my issue is that my girlfriend has another Twitter X account, which I didn’t know about for over a year, and I only just found out on March 4th. Of course, I questioned her about it, and her response was, “Why should I tell you that I have another Twitter X account that’s different from the one you know?” Before that, she even gaslighted me into believing that I already knew about the account, which wasn’t true. When I went through the tweets, I saw that she posted she was single on December 29th, 2024, while we were both in a relationship and even preparing to celebrate the New Year together.
Of course, I got upset, but I slept over it. The following day, we traveled to Abuja, and I was still a bit upset. While we were discussing it, she said, “Is it because of Twitter that you’re making a fool of yourself?” I still let it go, but now she has turned the issue against me and is the one mad at me for being mad about the Twitter account I knew nothing about. She even told me to leave Abuja because I was ruining her trip, claiming I must be texting another woman to be this upset. Please, what advice can you give me? Am I overreacting?
