My friend reached out to me yesterday, saying she found out she’s pregnant. She immediately told her boyfriend, but he asked her to terminate the pregnancy. This would be the third pregnancy she’s had to terminate for him in a year (2024). He’s always claiming he’s not ready to settle down, and moreover, he’s the last born of the family. Since his sisters haven’t given birth yet, he doesn’t want to be the first. She told me she’s scared to abort this third one, and I advised her not to do it because it could cost her life or cause damage to her body. But the guy insisted she terminate it; otherwise, she’s on her own. He doesn’t even have any children with her.
I advised her to meet his family and tell them their son has impregnated her and is asking her to terminate it. If she does, it will be the third abortion she’s had for their son. But she said his mother and sisters don’t even recognize her as his girlfriend and probably won’t listen to her. This is a four-year relationship, yet he doesn’t know her house or relatives and hasn’t allowed her to know his family or get close to anyone. She’s confused about what to do because she’s scared to abort the pregnancy, and she’s an orphan. She only has her mum’s sisters to call family. Please advise her on what to do.
