I love my dad, but I h8te how nonchalant he is toward his duties. I got admission to study medicine and will be resuming in two weeks. I called my dad to tell him, and all he said was, “Congratulations.” I was expecting the obvious “What do you need?” and other stuff, but I had to ask him myself. As usual, he acted like I had just given him a d£ath sentence. He acts this way every time I ask him to perform his duties. All I can think about is how lucky I am to be raised by my aunt (my mom died when I was younger) and how fortunate I am to have an elder brother who loves me and does everything my father is supposed to do. It makes me want to cry when I think about what would have become of me if I didn’t have them. I used to feel guilty every time I motivated myself by saying that I have to make my brother proud, but I’ll never feel guilty again after today. Thank you for listening to my rant.
