My dad embarrasses us so much. There’s nobody he hasn’t wooed or dated on our street. I’m a graduate waiting to go for NYSC, and I have three younger brothers. He’s a deadbeat and just a driver in a company. My mom shoulders everything at home, including our school fees and feeding. She’s like the man of the house, and thanks be to God, she sells well in her provision store. What pains me the most is that one day, I was talking to him about how I couldn’t take what he’s doing if I were his wife, and my mom was there. He just said he’s been doing it for years, so why is she just complaining now? I felt so disappointed and di$gusted. I don’t know what to do. My mom isn’t happy, and I feel useless. I can’t do anything. He spends his money on women and alcohol, and I’m sure he doesn’t have any savings. He doesn’t even care about us.
