I have a girlfriend who I have been dating for months now. So, in February, I bought her a new iPhone, which I spent quite a lot of money on. In March, which was last month, we went to the cinema together while we were on holiday from school. As we were watching the movie in the cinema together, she felt the need to rest her head on my shoulder. In this process, her phone fell down. It had been falling from her hand before this day, which I had witnessed, but this time part of the phone got blind. She showed me, and I was very furious. She could see the look on my face, then she comforted her. Two days later, the phone fell again. Now it was the back of the phone that broke. She showed me. Omo, this time I told her I just don’t care and I won’t spend a dime in repairing the phone because she’s too clumsy and not environmentally conscious (which her mother has told her also). Not that I don’t have the money to repair it, she knows I have the money, but I just felt the need to scold her so she would know how it felt. I have been giving this girl all she asks me, but I just thought I should also sit this one out.
I can’t just keep on succumbing to her needs always. She later went home after spending some time together with me. Two days after she got home, I called her, and then she told me she had repaired her phone. I asked her who gave her the money, and then she said she wouldn’t tell me, and that it was none of my business. Then her mother now said she was the one that gave her the money. Deep down, I know it’s not her mother that gave her the money. One week later, I booked a hotel and told her that I wanted to see her. She came, and that was when I started asking, questioning to tell me the truth. After enough pressure, she now said it was the guy who fixed the phone who did it for free for her. Then I asked her to show the guy and her chat on WhatsApp, but unfortunately, she has deleted everything before she came to meet me. And I even saw on the call log that she and this particular phone repairer spoke on the phone before she came to meet me. Please, guys, I need your honest opinion and advice on this issue.
