I met someone who I think genuinely loves me after I’d been through many hurtful relationships, but I broke up with him recently because he wasn’t willing to go to church every Sunday, even after I told him it was only for 2 hours, and I didn’t want to be a lonely married woman in the church in the future. I tried to find out if God did something to hurt him so I’ll understand why he was so unwilling to go to church at least on Sundays, but he said God did nothing wrong to him, and he just can’t spend his Sunday mornings in church. I’ve compromised for him, I don’t like PDA, but I let him have his way because he likes it. I call him pet names just because it’s what he likes. I actually don’t know if this is too big of a thing to compromise for someone you claim to love. To be honest, I don’t want a churchy judgmental person, I just want someone who is humane, knows God, and what it means to serve him, and someone who I can pray with if life ever throws something overwhelming my way or when I need to. Did I make a bad decision picking God over him? Let me know, please.
