Hitting a woman is not the only way to show a person is abusive. You can also be verbally abusive. That’s the situation I’m facing with my man, and it has been going on for a while now. He calls me names at every slightest chance to make me feel small or less important. If I react, he’ll say I don’t know when someone is playing. Most of the time, this happens over calls since we are not staying together. We live in different states. We’ve had issues several times because of this.
Sometimes he apologizes but still goes back to doing the same thing after a while. Funny enough, each time I visit him, he’s always so sweet and nice to me throughout my stay, making sure I am comfortable, and he doesn’t talk to me disrespectfully. But when I leave, he starts talking to me anyhow on the phone. I feel really bad about this and don’t know what to do. I also know this is not a basis for breaking up with someone. Please, what should I do?
