I met this guy in December 2022, and we started dating by January. I got pregnant the following month but didn’t find out until I was three months gone. I told him, and he asked me to keep it from his parents, even though my parents were pestering me to inform them. I kept it hidden until I was seven months pregnant, and eventually, they found out. I love this guy with all my heart, but I don’t think he loves me the same way. Ever since I met him, he hasn’t given me anything, and whenever I complain, he says, “How do you expect me to gift you anything when the bills you give me are already too much?” Meaning, I gave birth early in our relationship. I told him that little things matter, but he always fights me on it.
I cater for the child and do most of the work. If he does anything, he constantly reminds me of it. He abuses me every chance he gets and says I’m not someone he can show off to his friends because I’m not presentable. I got him things and always supported him with anything I could. But recently, this guy and his family have been giving me some kind of attitude, which I don’t even understand anymore. My question is: should I endure it or cut ties with him, since he’s not even taking full responsibility for the child that bears his surname? And whenever something happens between us, he always calls his family members to tell them.
