My man has always wanted to relocate from Nigeria through either the work visa or digital nomad visa route, just like me. Before we met, I was leaning towards the study route, but that option eventually became impossible for me. He has made it clear that he can’t handle a long-distance relationship, which I completely understand after spending about four months away from him. He’s not a social person and works 100% remotely, so he’s always indoors. He’s also quite clingy. Now, he’s actively pursuing the digital nomad visa route and insists that we do it together. However, we’re not legally married, and I’ve pointed out that this could be a problem since many countries prioritize married couples over unmarried partners.
Then, out of the blue, he suggested we get married as soon as possible. This completely threw me off because marriage is a big deal to me. There was no proposal, nothing special—he just wants to pay my dowry, do a court wedding, and that’s it. The part that unsettles me the most is that our relationship hasn’t even reached a year yet. I truly love him, and I know he loves me too—he’s an amazing guy and a sweetheart. But this all feels too rushed. P.S. I am 25 and he is 30 years of age.
