As a woman, having female friends isn’t safe enough, but male friends are 1000x worse. Last year, I saw shege mehn. It’s how these men will pretend to be good friends because they find you attractive, and they think you’ll probably condone their nonsense. The moment they find out you know your worth and you can’t let any man you’re not in a relationship with make you mentally drained, they get so mad and they tag you the problem in that friendship.
I don’t want to go into details because the story is long. From what I’ve experienced, my point is that men really love women they can manipulate. Just look like a fool, and you’re all they want. The moment you start standing your ground, nawa. Is it a crime there are certain things you can’t tolerate from anybody? I’m not a bare minimum girl, abeg. All that nonsense ghosting for a few days to see if I’ll text you, not replying to messages quickly so I’ll be emotionally dependent, intentionally doing things I don’t like just so you’ll see my reactions are not for me because I’ll take my leave.
A friend legit told me he thought I was a fool because I looked so gullible, but I proved otherwise. Imagine that. Male friends have drained me too much. If not because it’s difficult to find female friends that want the best for you and don’t harbor secret animosity, wetin be male friends I dey find? I’ve removed my hands from anything pertaining to friendship. If I’m lucky enough to find a good boyfriend, he’ll be my only friend. Male friends are not it at all, and I’ve had enough.
