I’m a 23-year-old guy who relocated to the UK years back and I was in a relationship before I left, and we both agreed to keep the relationship despite being far from each other. So each year I come to Nigeria just because of this girl. We both have plans of bringing her here to start living in the UK with me and we can both start a new life. I personally asked her to get going to gym because she was insecure about her body and all, and I also go to the gym here in the UK. Before I left, we’ve had so many issues about her trying to keep male friends, which I made her know it doesn’t sit right with me. And because of the love I have for her, and we’ve been together for 5 years because we started dating in uni, so it isn’t easy to let go. Now I came to Nigeria this month for 2 weeks and it’s not up to one week I got back here. I asked her to share her screen because she complained about phone storage and I was going to help her with it, only to see a chat with an unsaved number of her telling the person she tried calling but it was unreachable.
I asked her to open the chat and her voice was shaky so I knew something was up, and I asked her who it was while she scrolled while in the chat. She said it’s just a gym friend and I saw where she sent the same pictures she sent to me that morning in the chat, and the guy commented saying “see my baby,” and she made me know she had to delete his chat when she knew I was coming because she didn’t want any problem between us. And mind you, I’ve had so many times I believed she’s up to something, but I always feel I’m just an overthinker with childhood trauma. But turns out you can’t save them all. Now she’s begging me. She follows this page and she’s probably going to see this, but I can’t convey the pain in me right now because I’m so sure the gym friend isn’t just a friend, and she knows but she’s trying to manipulate me.
