I just don’t understand why some guys are so senseless… Any small thing, and they start criticizing single mothers. Why do you make them feel less than they are? Do you forget it’s not their fault they’re single mothers? People become single parents for different reasons. What about the men who leave these women to raise children alone? What do we call them? My mom is a single mom, and I will always be proud of her. It hasn’t been easy for her, raising me and my siblings.
There were days she would pretend to fast just so my younger brother and I could have more to eat, and she’d go without food herself. There were times we slept in church, or she did a whole year of night vigils, praying for us. It really pisses me off when people say negative things about single mothers. Our so-called father married someone else, yet that marriage also ended. My mom has never cur$ed him or said anything bad about him, even when we told her we wanted to change our last name to hers.
She advised us not to. So my question is, did these mothers choose to be single? Should my mom have abandoned me just because my dad did? Everyone labels them as “single mothers,” but no one calls fathers “single fathers.” This world is truly messed up. To all single moms out there, it might be hard now, but your efforts will pay off. Stay strong!
