I have fallen in love with an HIV+ lady. She is everything I ever wanted in a woman—a friend, a confidant, a helper, everything! So we had sex, but she always made sure I used protection, even when I insisted, she didn’t oblige. It never occurred to me that might be the case. She eventually showed me her ARVs. Oh my God, I shouted! Booked an emergency appointment with a clinic. God so good, I am negative—syphilis, HPV, all negative after 3 tests in the space of 3 months! Thank God. She shared her test result; she is “undetectable.” Thank God again. But damn, I love this woman, I swear! I don’t even know what to do.
