I need advice on a sensitive situation. I was friends with my unit leader for about two years; our friendship was like that of siblings. However, I started noticing he had romantic feelings for me, so I created some distance between us. He never explicitly asked me out, and eventually, he got married. I was happy for him, but things took a strange turn. Less than a month after his wedding, he began reaching out to me constantly. I avoided his calls and told him explicitly that I wasn’t interested and wouldn’t date a married man.
He stopped for a while but started again a few months later. This cycle continued for two years. What’s more concerning is that his wife has been ill, and despite that, he’s been saying he wants to marry me (which I’ve declined). His behavior has become obsessive. He’d show up at my place to check if I was really not around, and I’ve had to stay away from home because of him. He’s even told people that I’m his wife. I’ve stopped attending church to avoid him, but he continues to stalk me. I’m exhausted and don’t know how to handle this situation.
