I’m a 25-year-old lady currently dating a single dad of a 14-year-old. He wants to marry me, according to his words. I asked him about the mother of his child before I accepted to date him, and he told me that she left the child with him. So, fast forward to last night, as per the daughter of a detective that I am, I went through his IG followers and saw his older brother’s page. I saw pictures of him and the same woman wearing rings, and in one of the posts, the brother was celebrating her on her birthday and even referred to her as his sister-in-law. I was so confused and immediately texted him on WhatsApp and asked him questions.
He told me it was the brother who bought rings for them. He tried explaining and told me he wasn’t lying, that he had never paid a woman’s dowry before. He even said I could text his brother to ask him questions, but I can’t do that at all. He has been begging me, telling me everything I saw wasn’t true and that he can’t deceive me. He actually swore upon his life. He said he wants to marry me, but I’m so scared and I don’t want to fall into a situation where a woman would come tomorrow and say, “This is her husband.” What should I do?
