I had a bad experience the last two weekends, and to be sincere, I’m so hurt. There’s this young man I’ve known since 2022 during my school days. He stays in Uyo while I stay in Calabar. Sometime in January 2024, I stopped talking to him because the last time I went to see him, he behaved very badly. From that 2024 till last week, he had been in my DMs begging me to forgive him and come see him. I mentioned to him that I can’t have any sexual relationship with him anymore because the last time it was never defined, and I can’t continue doing that. Mind you, I’m not even dating, so he agreed and said he just wanted me to come around like old times with no sex. Before then, I had mentioned to him that I wanted to buy an industrial machine, get a new apartment, and I needed some money to get materials for my next ready-to-wear collection when he asked me how my business was going. So he asked how much I needed for the materials. I told him N150k, and he said he didn’t have that; he could only give me half of the money, which I accepted. Then the weekend for the visit came.
I went there and stayed, and I refused to have sex with him because when we talked over the phone, he said he wanted to make things right between us, so sex was never involved. After the weekend, on Sunday night, he asked for my details and sent N40k. When I woke in the morning, I asked him what the N40k was for. He said it was for my transport and that he’d send the rest the next day because he wanted to go to the bank. Knowing fully well I was leaving that same morning, I took the money and believed his words. Till now, he has refused to send the remaining money, saying it’s because I refused to have sex with him. I’m so in pain because I work, and just starting a fashion house is not easy. I’m good at what I do, and I don’t know why he chose to treat me like this. It’s so unfair.
