Please, I don’t know what I can do to stop hating on my dad. The thing is my parents are not together again since when I was small. The story I heard from my mum while growing up was my daddy wasn’t responsible and he lied too much, but I didn’t even put my ears in what she said because I didn’t want her to spoil my mind about my dad. As I was growing up I wanted to enter secondary school then and I needed money for school (school uniform, books, and many others), it’s not that my mum couldn’t afford to buy them but I didn’t want to stress her too much because she was already married to another man with her own kids too, so I wanted her to face her kids and husband. I called my dad to tell him but he kept posting me, telling me different stories every day, till I finished secondary school, he didn’t give me any money.
Fast forward to 2022, I went to meet him in Lagos to tell him I wanted to further my school, he said no problem and that if Jamb is out, I should call him. Immediately jamb form was out, I called him and told him, but till the form closed, he didn’t pick up my calls, so I stopped calling him, and I decided that when it’s convenient for my mom, I would go to school. This year, I wanted to apply for the form, but my dad is now claiming he is my daddy, he has every right over me, and he must choose a school for me, even the course that I will study, and where I will register for jam. He wants to pay for the form now and I don’t want him to pay it, even my school fees sef, I don’t need his help again, and this statement is making me hate him more.
Where was he when I was in secondary school that he didn’t sponsor and when I was living around with my mum’s sisters because she didn’t want me to live with her and her husband because I am a girl who has a quick growth? Even people around me said no matter what, he is still my father. He is my father? Someone who couldn’t train a child. I am only his child, only me ooo, and he works in Lagos. Note: He is not married so you people should not say is his wife who is not making him doing things for me.
