I rented one lady (my colleague at work introduced her to me) as my acting wife to come along with me to visit my family in Abuja last year, December. She lives in Abuja, so I didn’t have to worry about her flying there. We had an agreement that it was going to be from Dec 24th till Jan 2nd, and I was basically going to be the one responsible for her during that period. I initially had a hotel booked, but my grandma wanted every member of the family to be around throughout the holidays. Since the house was big enough and my fake wife didn’t have a problem with it, we decided to stay back.
Holidays went by, Jan 2nd arrived, which was our due date, but she came up with some random excuse on why she wouldn’t be able to leave that day (I should have known). Since I’ll also be leaving in 3 days, I said okay, cool. It got to the 5th. The night before, I noticed she wasn’t packing or trying to get ready for the next day, but I didn’t really stress about it because we didn’t really come with a lot of stuff. I woke up around 8 and started getting ready because my flight was at 12:30 pm. Madam was still sleeping, and I’m like, hmmm, okay.
Past 9, I had to wake and tell her I was going to be on my way, and she’s like, okay, what do I want for breakfast? I told her not to bother, that she should go freshen up so we can both leave together. The next I heard was, “I think we should give this a chance.” I just pretended like I didn’t hear anything, but she still carried on saying, “Your family really loves me, they want me around. They said we looked good together.” I just stood there confused asf like, “?????” Then she started saying she would talk to my grandma and explain everything to her, blah blah blah, that they’ll understand.
Omo, you’d think my village people worked on her overnight because of how bent she was on gathering everyone to explain to them what was happening. I didn’t want others to overhear us, and I knew arguing wouldn’t help at that moment, so I just started begging her, called my coworker to help me talk to her, and still had to add extra cash to the initially agreed amount (I wish I had made the agreement formal). Till I got back to Lagos, even now, I still can’t seem to wrap my head around what happened that day. You’d think she was a weapon fashioned against me lol. I guess the werey didn’t want to gree for anybody. This would be the last time in my entire lifetime I’ll ever try some stupid shit like this. F$ck!
