I’ve known him for two months, and he’s been a perfect gentleman, treating me nicely. His last relationship ended due to genotype issues, and he still has feelings for his ex, but acknowledges they can’t be together. He says he likes me and feels attached, but isn’t ready for a relationship due to unresolved heartbreak. I encouraged him to take time to heal and not rush into anything. However, I made it clear that I won’t wait for him to be ready; I’ll keep my options open and suggested he do the same.
I don’t think it’s smart to wait for someone unsure of their feelings. I have a life to live, and I deserve someone ready to prioritize me. It’s been a day since we last spoke, which is quite unusual, and I know it’s a result of the last conversation we had. The good thing is I’m unfazed. I like him, but I need to live my life. Did I make a smart decision? Was it too early to communicate this?
