I am a 30-plus single Nigerian lady who is into the cosmetics business. I currently make about N400–N500k from sales of skincare products online, that’s on Instagram, and the competition is crazy. So I was thinking of adding hair business to my business, as in like a separate page. If I am able to make N500k from cosmetics and make N300k from hair, at least that’s increased income. I randomly asked an old friend for money for business and he said he’ll give me N200k this September. But then another idea clicked: what if I use that N200k to start a skincare brand, like just produce one product, could be body lotion or body oil (I have knowledge of this too). Since I already know the kind of products people like, that way I’d be able to control the price. Competition is too much in this skincare business and now more people even go to the market to buy themselves. Or do I just try the hair business? I know competition is much, but you never know. I have knowledge of digital marketing, so I’d know how to market the hair, and if the hair doesn’t sell, at least I’d wear it.
As I don’t have a boyfriend or talking stage (story for another day), God is in control of that one. Let me at least get money and make myself happy. What do you guys think? Should I try the hair out or use the money to create a new skincare product? Please, I need honest answers.
