I Lost Everything I Built Just Because I Trusted The Wrong People

I had a business and was doing okay, but I left it all after being promised a good job and allowance in a new city for NYSC. I got nothing, no job, no support, just silence. I had to struggle on my own. After NYSC, I was jobless, constantly rejected, and mentally drained. I went to stay with my mom just to breathe. Then one day, my sibling mocked me, saying I didn’t know how to do anything. I broke down. That night, I almost gave up on everything. A voice in my head kept telling me to end it all, but somehow, I didn’t listen. That same night, that exact night, I woke up to several missed calls from a friend I’d begged for job help. He called me with an opportunity. I went for the interview, and today I resumed the job. The pay isn’t much, but I’m thankful. Only my mom knows. My siblings don’t, even the one who still posts indirect insults about jobless people. I’m so grateful He listened to me. This is your reminder: even if no one supports you, don’t stop. Your story isn’t over. You are not lazy. You are trying, and that’s more than enough.
