Hi guys, I need your advice. My boyfriend and I have been dating for more than 3 years now but we never went on dates. For three years of dating, he never gave me a birthday gift. The first year we were together, I didn’t see it as a big deal because he was a struggling man; he did not have much but once in a while, he gives his best. Till now, I’ve been trying to understand his situation but, honestly, I’m tired because I’ve been the one funding our relationship. He keeps borrowing money from me but doesn’t have money to pay back, which I understand. Then my ex, from 6 years ago, we were at a gathering this last December because we are friends. We partied and had a nice time together. We even went on a date, and my feelings towards him started to grow back, but he has a girlfriend and he is also aware I have a man too.
We’ve been seeing each other and talking ever since December, and I think I like him again. Now I’m giving my man attitude and I told him how I felt about not receiving gifts from him on my birthday, but he said he would make it up to me this year. My birthday came and I received nothing. He then said I would receive my gifts by the end of the month, which was fine with me, but I didn’t later get a gift. I feel really sad, but my ex gave me gifts and even called to make sure I was okay that day. I’m confused. Should I break up with my man and move to my ex? He said he will leave his girlfriend to be with me. Note: my man is still struggling with finances and he is begging me that everything will go well this year (he says this every year). Most times, I feel sorry for him.
