I will be very sincere with this rant no matter how ugly it may sound. I’m a 25-year-old girl with a BSc in mass communication, but I’m currently in a fashion school. I’m the type of girl who can’t stay alone without a relationship, so literally once I break up, I’m entering another relationship immediately because I’m scared of being alone, but I don’t double date. So I got into a relationship with one man this year just a few months ago (in his very late 30s). He is a divorcee to one white woman and a single father to a beautiful 9-year-old girl. He’s a Nigerian (Delta by origin) but based outside the country. He’s into the drug business over there, and he’s doing well for himself. So recently, a girl reached out to me (she’s not from Nigeria but one African country like that) that she’s his girlfriend and that they’ve been dating since late last year, that he knows her family, and that she just wants to know what’s going on between the guy and me because she has been noticing I do call him on the phone, and he always hides to take calls.
Well, I later told the man that someone reached out to me; he didn’t deny it, but he said he stopped dating her when he realized she had other two guys she was dating in two different countries, hence he suggested that they should just be friends with benefits. After the incident, he called me several times asking for forgiveness, to which I told him I had no grudges against him, but I was still giving him that cold treatment because I felt bad. Now you guys remember that I said I’m scared of being alone, so I decided to just let bygones be bygones, but I noticed he barely calls me on the phone like he used to, I asked him why, and he said he’s feeling guilty about what happened, that he feels ashamed to talk to me. I really want us to get back the way we used to, but I don’t understand him anymore. Please, guys, how do I move on because I’m not used to being alone? Are there things that I need to do to move on since he’s not even helping matters?
