I’m feeling disappointed. Five months ago, my best friend of nine years invited me to her sister’s wedding, which is happening next month, and asked me to do her sister’s makeup. She informed everyone, including her sister, who saw my work through videos and was impressed. Everything was planned out, and her sister even texted me to confirm.
However, recently, I messaged her sister, but she took days to respond. This was unusual, as she typically replies quickly. I had to message my best friend, expressing my concern. Her sister finally responded, saying her husband had already booked a makeup artist. I was speechless and hurt, considering we’d planned this for months and her husband supposedly knew nothing about me.
I confided in my best friend, sharing what her sister told me. Shockingly, my best friend responded insensitively, saying, “Life’s full of disappointment,” and using profanity, telling me to “suck it the fuck up and move on.” We’ve never had issues before, so her harsh tone caught me off guard.
Additionally, I hadn’t even charged much for the makeup service, which makes me wonder why they suddenly changed their minds. I’m still puzzled about the reason behind this unexpected update. Is it advisable that I still go for the wedding? Looking forward to y’all’s comments.
