I was going on an interstate trip and when the vehicle arrived at a checkpoint, we were asked to come down, and one of the police came to me and asked me to open my phone. Mind you, I’m a lady, and he was going through it. Recently, I took pictures of my breast because I noticed some changes. I took the pictures so as to cross-check that nothing is wrong with me after my test and doctor appointment. Could you believe this man was going through it, looking at me and saying, “Na you be this? Na ashawo you do?” I was lost. I felt hurt and violated. He kept on scrolling through it and looking at me before he eventually gave me my phone. I’ve been angry with myself. Please I’m asking, what could I have done? Does the Nigeria Police have the right to go through our phones and even invade our privacy? I’m just lost!
