I met this guy in early 2020; he asked me out, but I said no because I couldn’t cheat on my bf. After some time, my bf cheated on me with my best friend, and I was really sad. This guy was there for me until I got over my ex. We started dating in late 2021, and I was so in love, and I’m sure he was too. He started having issues, and I stood by him as I should. I was always funding and gifting him anytime he was broke, and he also gave me money anytime he had. Then I noticed he stopped giving me, but I did not take it seriously because I have my own business and I’m making money. On his birthday, I got gifts worth over N100k, and on my birthday, he sent me N10k. I appreciated it and I did not take it as anything because I felt he was broke. He started giving me an attitude, like not calling and replying on time. I ignored it. Then in March 2024, my phone got spoiled and I called him to inform him.
He just told me he would call me back but he didn’t. I needed money to buy a new one because the old one can’t be repaired. I got money from my mom and brothers and I told him about it with the hope that he would help me to add to the money. He did not render any help either financially or even emotionally. I was broken because I use my phone for my business, but my so-called bf did not even call me once since my phone got spoiled or even asked for the progress. I was using a button phone; I was always doing the calling; sometimes he would pick up, but most times he would not. I got a new phone in April and I did not text him; he saw my update and still did not text me. I blocked him on Instagram and WhatsApp. Now my friend is telling me I overreacted. Please, did I overreact because he was not going through anything during those times, but he could not even support me when I was down?
