My boyfriend broke up with me a few months ago. I found out he was dating another girl through his chats. I confronted him, and he apologized, deleting her number. I let it slide and didn’t make a fuss about it. But months after, during the lockdown, I was at his place and found out he was still chatting with the same girl. From their chats, it was clear they were dating. I confronted him, and he shouted at me, saying I had no right to touch his phone. He said he was dating her, and there was nothing I could do about it. He even seized my phone for a week, saying I wasn’t giving him peace. When he finally returned it, he had deleted all our pictures and videos.
I later called and begged him, but he said he was done and couldn’t be with a woman who talks back at him. He said I was disrespectful. I cried and begged for a long time, but he refused. This guy never apologizes when he’s wrong; I’m always the one begging to make peace. Whenever we argue, he keeps malice for days or weeks before we settle. Please, am I wrong? I feel like he just wanted a way out and manipulated me into thinking I was wrong. We dated for more than three years. I even waited for him when he was arrested for seven months, only for him to come back and leave me for another girl.
