I met this guy through someone last year, we started talking and he asked me out and I said yes. He said I should come and meet him in Lagos but I said no, I can’t because I still live with my parents who won’t allow me to sleep outside. Since then, the communication reduced and we didn’t talk for months. One day, he messaged me that he was already in Canada. I was happy for him and he said he was serious about the relationship now and he begged we should come back. Since I didn’t have anyone, I said okay. Anytime I ask this guy for money, he will always give an excuse right from the first time. I’m a working-class lady and I have my money too, so it’s not a matter of I’m billing him too early. He called me one day to lend him 2 million naira because he needed to settle some bills there since he hadn’t seen any work.
I told him I only had N400k with me and I lent him. When he got the job, he refunded me but not completely. I didn’t talk because I thought since we were dating, we could give each other stuff. After some time, I told him that I was broke and he said I’m a big woman na. I was angry but I didn’t say anything and moved on. His birthday came and I bought gifts for him. Valentine’s Day came and this guy didn’t even mention anything about it. I asked him and he said what do I need a Valentine’s gift for? This guy and I haven’t seen each other, just texting and FaceTiming. Please, do you think he loves me or he’s a total red flag or I should continue the relationship with him? This guy has never given 1naira before.
