So we just moved down to Lagos recently, and we don’t really have much. My husband, my daughter, and I have been managing. My senior wife, I mean my husband’s elder brother’s wife, called me and said she would be visiting us soon. They are doing very well financially. On the day of her visit, I told my husband to get pepper, fish, and plantain with eggs for her kids. My husband bought Titus fish, which was cut into four pieces with a big tail. When she arrived with my husband’s cousin, I served her rice with the tail because it was big, along with plenty of plantain and a soft drink. I served the cousin the same, as well as her kids.
For the kids, I served them rice with eggs since my husband bought three eggs. She has two kids, and I gave my daughter one egg as well. The fish that remained was just two pieces, and her second child didn’t eat. I took one fish for myself and my husband because the only piece left was the head, and there was hardly anything on it. When they left, my husband told me I should have served her two pieces of fish instead. Now, I’m really feeling guilty about my actions and have been feeling bad since yesterday. However, she was very appreciative because she knows we don’t have much and are just managing. Have I done anything wrong?
