I saw a post where someone posted about not understanding men when they are down and stuff like that. What about a situation where you always help him out? Every time he needs money, if I have it, I give. When we met, he was broke. Months after, he buzzed up and I was the first person he got rid of using a flimsy excuse to break up. He flaunted that money—whenever he got something like gold or his car, he would send pics to me knowing fully well that I was begging him at that moment to take me back. I left and stopped begging. He came back 4 months after. If I had truly offended him then, he wouldn’t have reached out. We got back together only for me to realize that he was broke. I didn’t leave because of that—it’s because I love him no matter what. If he asks me for money, I give if I have (up to N150k, N170k). One day, I had just N15k on me. He asked for it because he needed to get drugs so badly. I gave him and he promised to refund me because I told him that’s all I had left. Till tomorrow he hasn’t returned it and he stopped talking to me. In my view, he stopped talking to me because I asked for the money, knowing fully well that he was broke.
But why did he have to lie that he would refund it? My thought was that he had money somewhere because he told me he was having bank issues. Am I not understanding enough? If he likes, he should break up when he is financially okay—I don’t care. He worked for the money, I didn’t. I survived without him when he broke up the first time. I can’t act stupid because of what a man will do when he’s financially okay. It’s been a month since we last spoke because I asked for the money he himself told me I would get the following day. Not gonna lie, dating a broke guy is draining—money aside, they will use emotional torture to wound you. Men these days think when they are broke, they are useless. Who started this useless idea in the first place? Why do you guys think less of yourself? Not every woman will leave you or cheat on you because you’re broke, for God’s sake!
