This one is for the girl that thinks cooking for a man is slavery. I stay in a small space, and for over two years, I’ve not touched a pot up to ten times to cook. It’s either I’m ordering food or eating out. Recently, I met a guy—his kitchen alone is three times the size of my place. You don’t even need to use a hand blender because he has an electric one. This guy literally has every kitchen utensil—name it! The first time he asked me to cook, I wasn’t comfortable with it, but island food is all trash and way too expensive. So we got everything we needed, and guys… for the first time, I enjoyed cooking! Everything was so easy—his kitchen is well-arranged, and whatever you need is easy to access. Plus, if I’m busy with one thing, he’s helping with another. He’s the one washing the pepper mix, slicing, and blending. If I use a pot and I’m done with it, he washes it immediately.
Now, whenever I go to his place, I insist on cooking! Me, who didn’t like cooking before, now enjoys it. He probably thinks I’m trying to act like ‘wife material,’ lol. I just realized that it’s not that I don’t like cooking—it’s just the stress of pounding pepper, washing pots, and cleaning up that I was scared of. I know many girls are on this table too. This whole experience has made me want to hustle more and get a good place with a nice kitchen for myself. I pray God sees me through. To all the men who assist their women with housework, you don’t know how much of a burden you’re lifting off her shoulders. May God bless y’all. And I pray I marry a caring man who brings out the softness in me because, see me, who used to say, ‘I can never cook for a man or someone I’m not married to,’ now doing it because it brings me joy! 🤩 Okay, bye.
