So, the thing is, I discovered last year that I had tonsil stones. We all know tonsil stones cause bad breath. So I swung into action, started brushing properly, and spent over 30 minutes cleaning my mouth. But I noticed people still moved back a bit or squeezed their faces whenever I opened my mouth. Even inside keke or a bus, I just knew it was bad breath from my tonsils. I brush well, use a tongue scraper, use mouthwash, and still gargle with warm salt water, yet my tonsils, when I touch them, still smell. The smell is so bad. This is dealing with me because I hardly talk when people are close by. I have tried everything I can, from using lemon water, salt water, and clove water, to visiting an ENT doctor. They said the only option is removing my tonsils, which I don’t want to do now as an adult. My tongue doesn’t smell, and my teeth are white, but whenever I touch my tonsils with my hands, they still smell. Please, what else can I do aside from the surgery? How do I clean my tonsils properly? I have tried even using a soft toothbrush to clean them, using cotton wool and toothpaste to clean the tonsils, yet the smell lingers. I spend more time washing my tonsils than I spend bathing. Please help me if you have a solution.
