I have been dating my man for four years now. We only dated for 7 months before he traveled. He came back this October, making it four years we’ve been together. While he was away, he wanted to come see my people and pay my bride price, but I told him I didn’t want it that way. I wanted him to be around when everything would be done because my elder sister has been married for five years without setting her eyes on her husband, and I don’t want that situation for myself. Now my man has been back in Nigeria for over a month, and I’ve been with him throughout because we rented an apartment together.
But since then, he hasn’t been talking about paying my bride price compared to how he was in a rush to pay it while he was away. Now, I’m beginning to think he doesn’t want it anymore, and I’m thinking of packing out to stay away from him for at least a few weeks or a month. I’ve told him about me moving out, but all he cared about was where I would stay because he knows I don’t like going to my village, and I don’t have anywhere else to stay for that long aside from my village. I’m confused. I don’t know if I’m rushing things or if he isn’t interested anymore. Please, I need advice.
