I feel so hurt today, honestly. Omo, we ladies are really going through a lot. So today, while I was going home, two guys were standing and talking on the road, so I passed, but the one on the left side, his hand hit my thigh, and I just turned and continued going without saying a word. Only for this guy to start insulting me in Yoruba, saying, am I better than the people they see, he started cursing me and swearing. I returned the insults back because he started it. That was how he left the person he was talking to and came to me that he would slap me, and I said, why will you insult me first? He slapped but not a sound one, so people around told us it was okay. Immediately, two guys already came and told me in Yoruba; Aunty, are you mad, why are you insulting our brother? Omo, at that point, I knew the stupid short dwarf guy was a tout.
I just weak because in this our society, people will abuse you, but if you talk back, it’s a problem and an in$ult. I’m a Yoruba girl, but I must say my tribe guys are very quick to disrespect a lady and insult them, and it’s very bad. I hate strangers touching me, I’m not the most beautiful woman, but it irks me a lot. I always challenge those market people too who are fond of dragging people, and I get in$ulted a lot, but this is my body; you can’t just be touching me anyhow. People will abu$e me because I don’t want them to touch me, but today’s own brought tears to my eyes because they know I’m weak, I’m a lady, and they know I can’t fight them. I was so h#rt. Women go through a lot of abuse, and it’s not fair.
