So I met this Hausa man some years ago and he’s really an amazing person. This man paid my school fees throughout school and he never complains anytime I ask him for money. He literally helped me and my family a lot and since I graduated, I’ve been working for him and he pays me so well. He’s not really educated so I help him with all those stuff including communicating with his customers.
The problem here now is that I’m Yoruba and he’s in Yoruba land doing business but he’s not the only one in the business, there are other Yoruba but he’s the most recognized because he’s very honest and he has a lot of customers because of that. Hmm, but there’s a problem; the Yoruba here are really jealous of him and there has been some murmuring for a while now about why will a hausa be more recognized than them in their own land.
And they’re already taking a lot of dangerous steps to send him back to his village. From ganging against him to spoiling his name and market to people. He wasn’t bothered about it before but now he is now f! fighting back and it’s now the whole town against him. They really want to do him bad and I’m sad because there’s nothing I can do to help him. After all, we are also not from this town.
My dad also ran from his family to hide his head here, so I don’t know anyone I can run to help him, I really want to help him because he helped me and my family. I don’t have friends in this town, I’m always on my own. Please, help me, I don’t know what to do. My own people are tribalistic, it’s so sad they’re really planning to harm him.
